Is passing blood clots outside of stool a symptom of hemorrhoids, if that person goes untreated for years?
I’ve seen my doc, he’s sending me to a GI specialist on Thursday. May have a colonoscopy. I’m not sure what a blood clot is supposed to look like, but the blood on my stool is formed together and occaisionally when I wipe, a "clot" is there on the paper. I’ve bled from hemorroids for years, but these clots are new. I’m just hoping I don’t have anything worse than hemorroids.
I do have pain while having a bowel movement. I may have an anal fissure instead of hemorroids. But like I said, the clots are new.

bleeding per rectum is not something easy or simple to just ignore … u need to know where the blood is coming from , and that’s what your GI specialist should tell you ,,, hemmorrhoids per say is not a dangerous condition , but , if got thrombosed it will give a severe pain that u don’t wanna try ,,, i advice you to visit your doctor again , to exclude other causes of bleeding and clots with stool ( which might be more severe than hemmorhoids .. ) ..
good luck ! ..
