Is it possible that there may be internal hemorrhoids that cause blood to appear during defecation?

Could be colon cancer?
Note that the blood appears on the anus but not on the feces.
Also the hemorrhoids are not external (are not visible)

You are exactly right about internal hemorrhoids causing the blood.
Unless you are an old person or have a strange family history of colon cancer striking members at a young age, don’t worry until your are 50.
It is possible that you have internal hemorrhoids that is causing the blood. They can not be as obvious from the out side but they certainly do occur and yes you will have blood. Unless you show other dramatic changes in bowel movements like too loose then too hard you probably don’t have cancer as the bowels change in movements dramatically with cancer. But if your really worried then next time you go to the doc it wouldn’t hurt to have a chat to them about it.
yes they can be internal (experience)

certainly.
You would see blood on the tissue. It’s often bright red, if it’s become very irritated.
