Is It normal for 17 year old girls to have hemorrhoids?

I am a 17 year old female and for the last 6 months or so have noticed blood on the toilet paper when I wipe.
I was just wondering how common is it for girls of my age to have hemorrhoids?
I have not been to see my doctor about it, I am just assuming thats what I have. Because there is no chance it could be anything worse is there?

If you have (or have had) chronic constipation problems, it could be hemorrhoids or (more likely) an anal fissure. Both come from straining… a lot. But if you have been seeing blood regularly for six months, it’s certainly not a bad idea to see a doctor… because, yes, there are "possible" causes that are not so benign.
what i thought was just hemorrhoids turned out to be anal cancer, so yes it could be something else.
