Has anyone ever had this surgery and how painful was it and how much time off work did you have to take?

Well I am 37 weeks pregnant and had TWO procedures in the last month to stop the Thrombosed external hemorrhoid pain. Time is of the essence. The sooner, the better.
If yours are external, DO NOT WAIT, get to the surgeon.
Longer the wait, more the time and recovery pain.
The first prodecude they removed a clot the size of a quarter, I hurt like hell for 2 straight days, on codeine, then BETTER! worth it.
This one, i had done friday, he ended up cutting a dime size clot, and stitched up the vessel.
Hurts 3 days later like a son of a gun, but because the codeine made me vomit so much last time (baby reaction) I chose not to medicate and wow, it hurts worse than LABOR pains. Really I kid you not.
So be sure you can take pain killers, be off work no less than 3 days. You will need this time.
Now if you have internal and require FULL BLOWN surgery 4 weeks is reasonable for full recovery, and likely 2 weeks time off…
So sorry your also dealing with this, good luck and merry christmas to you!
Hemorrhoids can be surgically removed while you are sedated and pain-free (local or spinal anesthesia) or deep asleep and pain-free (general anesthesia ). After the hemorrhoid is removed, gauze packing is inserted to reduce bleeding.Smaller hemorrhoids may not require surgery. Treatments for small hemorrhoids may involve a chemical injection to reduce swelling or rubber band ligation to cut off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid. These procedures can often be done as an outpatient or office procedure with minimal or no anesthesia
you may experience considerable pain after surgery as the anus tightens and relaxes. Medications to relieve pain may be used. To avoid straining, stool softeners will be used. Avoid any straining during bowel movement or urination. Soaking in a warm bath can bring additional comfort. Expect complete recovery in about 2 weeks.
You might have a little pain after the surgery, but you will be okay. They give you a week to rest, and you should be back to work after that.
I preferred to opt for natural treatment, and I’m glad I did it. Got rid of my hemorrhoids with Rue Care Oil – no pain, no loss of working hours.
