Has anyone had hemorrhoid surgery? If so, how bad did the recovery hurt?

So after three kids, I have some permanent irritating hemorrhoids and I want to have the surgery to remove them. My doctor is also recommending the surgery however, I’ve heard that the recovery is very painful. Has anyone had this surgery? If so, please let me know how bad the recovery was.

hi, there are 2 different types of hemorrhoids , internal ones, and external ones, i had the internal ones, they tend to bleed more than hurt, i opted to have the "band" procedure, that was no problem, for me, and worked great!, now i also have the external ones,they don’t bother me too bad , so i have opted to leave them alone, you can go to this web site called http://www.healthboards.com you will be able to find out more on the subject………good luck to you!
I decided to try homeopathy before I committed to the surgery. Also had a fissure, which was worse than the hemorrhoids. Didn’t need the surgery and no more problems. Homeopathy also got rid of my ovarian cysts.
I wouldn’t even consider surgery as an option any more unless I was involved in a major accident or it was something immediately life threatening.
