Hi- These are such a pain in the butt- pardon the pun. There are many ointments that are over the counter- This includes Preparation H, and also there are now towelettes that are also called Preparation H. PLEASE don't freak- You don't need a Doctor for this. The cream will ease ur pain tremendously. Sometimes women can get these after giving birth- from the pushing during labor. Sometimes these are caused by lifting heavy objects, stress, and diet. Lots of items have high fiber, such as shredded wheats cereal, apples, just to name a couple of food items. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS TO CLENSE THE SYSTEM OUT! I have a couple of sites that hopefully assist you in getting this question answered. GOOD LUCK & TAKE CARE OF URSELF!

They do just go away, but once you get them they can come back. Try fiber and drink plenty of fluids. don't strain. Most people get hemorrhoids.

You don't need a doctor's help. It just came from constipation, probably. If you have pain or itching, you can get an OTC medicine for it, like Preparation H. Otherwise, just keep it clean with those Baby Wipes at the toilet after going #2. Don't fear a little blood on the wipe. It may go away on its own. Sitting won't make a major difference in it. Just get normal, healthy exercise for your age.

Try to keep it clean so it doesn't get irritated and apply 'Preparation H' to the clean hemorrhoid. This product will give relief and shrink it at the same time. Hemorrhoids are common and there is no real need to see the doctor .

Go to your pharmacist, and ask for a "donut" for you to sit on. This pad is shaped like a donut, so that your anus rests above the hole. It alleviates the pressure of sitting.

Start drinking extra water and increasing your fiber in your diet, right away. Hemorrhoids are often caused by straining on the toilet due to hard, impacted, dry feces. Water and fiber prevent that.

Twice a day you need to sit in a warm tub of water. Afterwords use some type of hemorrhoid cream. Then use pads that are soaked with witch-hazel. You can buy this over the counter in the pharmacy. The witch haze also come in a bottle it is very soothing. When you are in the pharmacy check of the different creams and ointments on the market. All the things I have mention will have the swelling go down . I speak from experience I have had two children. Also us esome Motrin it will help with the discomfort. If all of this does not help you may need to see a doctor.
