Can you have hemorrhoids for most of your life?

I’m having this argument with my girlfriend. She claims to have had hemorroids for most of her life. Don’t hemorrhoids only last for a short period of time or can they last years at a time?

As far as I know you can have them most of your life. After you get them I believe they keep flairing up. You can get them from many things, such as child birth and horse back riding.
Yes you can but they are easy to fix. They are there till you get them surgically removed wich is a really quick office procedure.
Sure wish I knew the answer. I have been suffering with them offf and on ever since the birth of my son, 10 years ago. They come and go, mostly with my periods, but they are hell!
