Can hemorrhoids cause thin stool?
Hi i am 14 years old and a male, and 1 or 2 months ago i went to the doctor because of bleeding when i pooped. My doctor told me i had hemorrhoids and slight constipation, so he gave me something and the bleeding has pretty much stopped but not fully. Also the constipation stopped. Everything was fine until 4 days ago i started having Thin stools. Sometimes i think that i have to poo but nothign comes out, i still take regular poo’s, 2-3 times a day but once or twice a day it’s either hard to poop, or i wont be able to. I also had 1 diarrhea but i did drink a lot of water taht day. The weird thing is, the thin stools are not consistant, everyday i will have atleast 1 and sometimes 2 normal poo’s, but they are soft poo’s and usually sink to the bottom. I realize many of these are symptons of colon cancer, but i dont see how. I am 14, tehre is no history of cancer in my family, also i eat lots of seafood, which i heard reduces the risk of getting this. But then again i also do eat lots of meat. I also eat fruits and vegetables, not too many fruits though and a decent amount of vegetables. So i’ve kind of thought that this could be a cause of hemorrhoids, i know that constipation is a cause of it. So i’m wondering if hemorrhoids could cause thin stools too. and if yes how do i stop it? Also my diet does not consist of lots of fiber. I am worried and your advice is greatly appreciated

After you check with your doctor you can try a product called Digestive Advantage. Its a probiotic that helps regulate your digestive system without upsetting your stomach. I take it occasionally because I was hospitalized with a major intestinal blockage that led to a huge infection. So I found digestive advantage and have had a lot less problems than I had. Its a little expensive but I think its a lot cheaper than seeing the doctor then having to pay for the medication to take care of the problem. I am not trying to sell this product, I can only attest to its effectiveness.
There is a condition known as irritable bowel syndrome. This is a sort of cyclic issue where you are constipated for a few days then you get to go poop. At the end of the cycle sometimes if feels like you have to go but nothing happens. This could be what you are describing. Digestive advantage has a medicine for this. It doesn’t need a prescription and you can find it at many major pharmacy stores. If this is what your doctor says is wrong then digestive advantage will even out the cycle to where you go back to a normal cycle of being able to go every day without straining.
Often hemeroids (sp) are caused by having to strain when you need to use the bathroom. Some ladies get them when they have their babies but you’ll never have that problem. It may be time to discontinue the medicine the doctor gave you to help. A diet with fruits and vegetables is good but adding a little fiber to your diet, like oatmeal, keeps you healthy. Cheerios do a good job as well.
I seriously doubt you have colon cancer but I understand your concern. No one likes to be sick all the time, especially in such a manner. When in doubt the opinion of your doctor is worth the peace of mind.
The haemorrhoids do not cause thin stools but any medication the doctor has given you to ease constipation might do so. If you feel you need to go, but only thin stuff is coming out, there is a possibility that are actually constipated, but that it is further up the intestine and diarrhoea is getting past the blockage.
You would be better going back to see the doctor, especially as the haemorrhoids have not fully stopped bleeding. You seem to be getting lots of fruit and veggies, which is good and which gives you lots of fibre. This could cause thin poo.
No haemorrhoids do not cause thin stool, most probably you are suffering from hurried bowel Syndrome ,Consult a physician for treatment.Admiral V K Singh
if you eat alot of fiber, you stool will be thinner. If your still constipated, ask your parents to get you a stool softener like Dolcolax or Colace or use an enema
I just had an exam and I had a precancerous hemorrhoid removed. Please go get it checked.I don’t have a family history of colon cancer but could have if I didn’t go to the doctor.
Try to eat more fruits and vegetables and take fiber tablets but above all GO SEE A DOCTOR ! !
Good luck ! !
