Can hemorrhoids cause cramping before you go poop?

I do have a hemorrhoid, and I was wondering if before going poop you could get a cramp? If it can’t, can you please answer if there is a difference between a ‘poop feeling’ and a cramp before you go poop? is it bad to get an actual cramp in your very lower abdomen before you go? *not a poop feeling*

Hi Ben,
Hemorrhoids do cause terrible pain but I never experienced them causing cramps.
If you are constipated, then after a few days of no poop, the hard stool can start moving, causing a cramp.
The "poop feeling" is a different feeling than a cramp, yet
- for constipated people or
- for people that postpone going to the toilet (because going to the toilet causes the hemorrhoids to become painful)
the poop feeling can be long replaced by a cramp.
However by changing your lifestyle evoking looser stools and going to the toilet each time you feel an urge, you should start having less cramps, less hemorrhoid pain and get in touch again with the "poop feeling".
